Abstract

The Karmaskalinsky district is a neighboring area of the Ufa district, which is one of the most developed regions in the Republic of Bashkortostan. However, such adjacency does not save the district from the loss of such elements of historical heritage as the origin of the names of settlements. The study of lexical features of toponymic units of the Karmaskalinsky district is an important component of exploring the history and culture of the population and its linguistic aspects. The most complete information about the origin of toponyms is contained in the historical sources used in this study. The article examines the oeconyms of rural settlements of the Karmaskalinsky district formed from lexical units of the Bashkir language, anthroponyms and eoconyms of other origin; the author also identifies the main features of the origin of the oeconyms from the region under study.
