SMS LANGUAGE – A LINGUISTIC NORM OR ITS VIOLATION?

Abstract

The article attempts to examine some theoretical problems of textual activity as an important regulator of social interaction in the process of communication. Since the method of speech implementation significantly affects the selection and arrangement of language means in the process of speech communication, the article provides examples of information transmission through text messages in the modern English language. The study examines the linguistic features of writing text messages are examined as well as analyzes the graphic identity and the peculiarities of their spelling.
